What do you get when you bring together 25 of your best friends and family for an intimate wedding in Boone, NC, in a gorgeous and modern A-frame cabin nestled amount the Blue Ridge Mountains?

An absolute banger of a wedding, that’s what.

Deanna & Jacob brought summer camp vibes to their Boone wedding, which is fitting since many of the friends had attended summer camp together as teenagers. Their venue, a private AirBnb, was the perfect setting - three A-frame cabins nestled among a hilly, wooded property with vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The couples’ families slept on site, spending the wedding weekend with campfires, hot tubs, and cocktails mixed by the groom himself.

The word that comes to mind for Deanna & Jacob’s wedding is “organic”. From their friends’ toasts, to the living room ceremony, to the girls getting ready on the bathroom floor - everything about this day felt organic. While the wedding was thoughtful, intimate, and well-appointed, it was never inauthentic or more about the pomp & circumstance than the people.

After a sweet living room ceremony, we decamped to the Over Yonder Restaurant near Boone for dinner, where we enjoyed entrees, fried okra to die for, and classic cocktails. The line between guest and photographer felt blurred, if it existed at all. I soaked it in as family members and old friends told stories of the couple, and the couple enjoyed visiting with their guests.

After dinner, we road the party buses back to the A-frame for cake, dancing, and karaoke. It was easy for me to stay late into the evening as the couple and their friends turned the cabin living room into a raging dance floor. At the end of the evening, it felt like I’d made two dozen close new friends, and I had to individually say goodbye and hug each guest. Weddings like this Boone, NC wedding energize me, refresh me, and fill me up with love and joy.
