I’m Tom, and I adore weddings.
I come from a large, complicated family and am comfortable and adept at navigating family dynamics, communicating clearly & kindly, and adapting to changing circumstances on the fly.
Based in Raleigh, NC & Portland, Maine, I frequently travel across the United States & to select international destinations for weddings.
Photographing weddings is my life’s work. Thank you for considering inviting me to your wedding - it’s a privilege.
I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Raleigh, NC & Portland, ME. I’m known for delivering a sure-handed and kind-hearted experience to both you and your guests. I seamlessly join your wedding and am just as comfortable chit-chatting with your grandma as I am screaming Mr. Brightside with all of your besties.

Weddings bring people together: across states, across oceans, across time.
My own family is spread across the globe (Toronto, Honduras, Boston, Alaska, and many points between). I know this is true for so many couples: even if your own family is not as far flung as mine, weddings are a place to re-connect, gather, and come together.
I’m a father of three girls, and was raised by a grandmother who gave me everything she had. I have a unique multi-generational viewpoint on your wedding day, and treasure getting to know your guests.
So I take this mindset, this approach, this ethos into your wedding day: photograph you, your partner, and the people who mean everything to you.

If we could rate Tom Waldenberg in stars, we’d need NASA-level math, because five is nowhere near enough.
Tom wasn’t just our photographer. He was our makeshift-coordinator, our chaos-controller, our stress reliever, our honorary family member.
Our parents raved. My German grandmother (with famously high German standards—iykyk) raved. And none of them had even seen the photos yet! That’s how good Tom is: people adore him on sight. By the end of the night, he wasn’t just documenting the party, he was part of it, helping keep our timeline intact, corralling family, partying with us, and somehow still catching every candid grin and happy tear.
Jordan & Sean Picking Tom was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! He was incredibly patient, responsive, and helpful during the planning process (shoutout to the time I tearfully asked him “am I on track for planning?” and he somehow convinced me that I was!
