Colin & Claire’s Haw River Ballroom wedding was one for the ages. These two brought the absolute PARTY vibe to their wedding, while still keeping a sweet and romantic lightness to all the proceedings. I first met these badass beauties last summer for an amazing, fun, and adventurous engagement session at Eno River State Park (they brought ME a beer for their engagement session! Talk about the way to my heart). I had their Haw River wedding circled on my calendar for a long time - I knew Colin & Claire’s celebration would be filled with love, laughter, and fantastic dance moves.

The Haw River Ballroom was the perfect setting for their wedding, and immediately became one of my favorite venues. The private spot down by the Haw River was a sweet and private spot for Colin & Claire’s first look, and evoked the river vibes of their engagement session (when Colin fell into the river accidentally LOL). The Haw River Ballroom’s amphitheater easily held Colin & Claire’s 170+ guests with room to spare for the ceremony, and thankfully the rain held off. The Carolina Cutups were the perfect bluegrass accompaniment for their couple’s entrance into the ceremony.

After a delicious dinner from the Saxapahaw General Store’s catering team and some heartfelt speeches, the Restless Carolina band ripped into a bunch of classic dance floor bangers and the wedding party was off and running. Claire changed into a surprise reception romper dress for easier dancing, and the couple’s assorted friends and family danced their brains out for hours.

If you’re considering getting married at the Haw River Ballroom, I can wholeheartedly say that it is one of my favorite venues in the Raleigh area, with a unique charm and location that is unmatched. The venue and grounds have interesting architecture, beautiful greenery, and lots of opportunities for cool portraits. The Haw River Ballroom wedding staff, along with the catering staff from Saxapahaw General Store next door are total pros and can handle anything that might come up on wedding day.
