Portland, Maine Engagement Photos

Portland, Maine in summer is a little slice of heaven. Growing up next door in New Hampshire, my family and I enjoyed spending as much time on the Maine coast as we could, and as an adult, I travel back any chance I can. So when Maggie & Jack, two of my North Carolina clients, mentioned that they would be honeymooning in Maine, I jumped at the chance to travel to Maine and take photos for them on their honeymoon.

We met at Portland Head Light, which is an iconic spot for Maine engagement photos. The lighthouse was built in 1791 and is Maine’s oldest lighthouse. It’s absolutely one of my favorite places in the Portland area, and maybe anywhere, to take engagement photos or honeymoon photos. Maggie and Jack were down for an easy scramble to the base of the cliffs, which we had all to ourselves on a Monday morning. It was 65 degrees and breezy, pretty much an absolutely perfect Maine summer morning.

After taking some epic photos at the lighthouse, we strolled through downtown Portland, Maine for more photos, where we found funky architecture, fun alleys, and ivy covered buildings. I love photographing in downtown environments, as they provide such rich texture and colors.

If you’re thinking about getting engaged in Maine, doing engagement photos in Portland, Maine, or any other type of photos in Maine, I’d love to chat with you about bringing your dreams to life and capturing your love!
